Favorite Wine:
Our favorite wine is harder to determine, but consistently the Rockpile Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah of any vintage hit the spot, whether sipping in the backyard or enjoying with a meal. We look forward to our next opportunity to share good wine with good friends at Amista!
Becoming Members:
Making Friends is not simply an imprint on the Amista cork, it is their commitment to every visitor, and it is what drew us in despite having sipped our way through the valley and declaring we had all the wine we need. While standing in line at the Dry Creek General Store, Larry struck up a conversation with a Limo driver who insisted we head down the driveway across the street. We have never regretted taking his advice, and we joined that day. I can no longer recall how many picnic lunches, Sparkling Holiday celebrations, Dinners in the Vineyard, or Dog Days we have attended. Whether it is just the two of us, or we are accompanied by friends, Vicky, Mike, and the entire Amista staff welcome us, not as wine club members, but rather as friends.
Favorite Memory:
Our favorite Amista memory is linked to Dinner in the Vineyard a few years ago. During dinner, Ashley announced the grapes for the Blanc de Blanc were ready for harvest and invited dinner guests to come back in the morning. Larry and I arrived at 7:00 a.m. sure there would be others. We were the only ones to accept the invitation, allowing us the privilege of walking the vineyard with Vicky, observing workers harvesting the grapes, and experiencing the passion for the work in action.
