June Amista Friend of the Month Newsletter!

Here at Amista, our Wine Club members are very special to us and are considered part of our Family.

These are Club members who continually engage with, and support the Amista Family. In addition to being featured in our monthly newsletter, Amista Friends of the Month receive additional benefits, like extra savings on wine, food pairings, and other treats during the month. We do this every month, and reach out to Club members asking if they would like to participate. So keep an eye out in your inbox to see if you have been nominated!

This month we are featuring our Club Member Dorothy who lives in Redding, a town up in Northern California. Dorothy had been visiting Amista long before she joined the Amista Family ten years ago in April of 2009 as a Circle of Friends and Sparkling Add-On member. We have been sharing wine and creating lasting memories for her, which she takes back home to also share with her friends and family. Below is her story!

Becoming a Member:

I had the pleasure of getting to know Mike and Vicky when Amista was just a twinkle in their eyes. I, along with a group of friends, attended one of the Pre-Passport Vineyard Tours that happened to feature their property. Afterwards, we were standing around chatting and mentioned that we were looking for a place to get together for a barbeque. Mike and Vicky were kind and generous enough to invite us to use their own home (no tasting room, etc. existed yet.) We had a wonderful time, and the rest is history!

Favorite Amista Wine:

I love all of their wines, but as you can see from the picture of the inside of my fridge, the sparkling's are my favorite!

I don’t have anything in particular I pair it with. Doesn’t it go with everything? We toast accomplishments, big and small. Sometimes just making it through another day. I usually take a couple of bottles with me whenever I travel or visit to make sure that no one misses out. I also love to share the tradition of sabering the bottle. We have had a lot of fun (and a few epic fails) teaching that skill!

Favorite Amista Memory:

I have many fond memories of time spent hanging out with friends and family at Amista. My Mom and I always stop by after running the Healdsburg Half Marathon. A couple of years ago we were able to bring the whole family from all over the country who were with us on a family reunion celebrating Mom’s 80th Birthday. I am also happy to report that we are bringing the next generation into the fold and I am the mother of a second generation Amista member (or is it a third generation - Mom is a member, too!)
