Gloeckner-Turner Ranch, Rockpile, Sonoma County
Special Library Wine - 6 bottles per membership
The 2009 Rockpile Cabernet Sauvignon is a wine to remember. From the red-black color in the glass, to the wafting aromas of leather, tobacco, and black cherry on the nose, this wine lives up to the appellation’s reputation. The richness on the palate is accompanied by bright blackberry and black cherry flavors. The tannins are bold but still velvety. It finishes with a good acidity. This is a huge wine that is meant to age, but will also pair well now with your favorite hearty meals.
The grapes come from a steep, rocky hillside in the Rockpile appellation, just north of Dry Creek Valley.
