Vineyard Notes
2020 was a vintage to remember. From early on in 2020, the vintage was quite warm. Bud break and set happened very smoothly and the crop size was considerably smaller after two large vintages. In the vineyard, all our varietals were concentrated in yields and delicious in flavors.
Winemaker Notes
We are so excited to release our inaugural vintage of Rosé of Grenache! This Rosé comes from clone 515, which is one of our newer plantings of Grenache. We picked this Grenache in the early morning hours of September 15th and brought it to the winery super cold. From there, it went whole cluster into the press and then directly to barrels to ferment. We fermented this with a bit of yeast from our red Grenache fermentation and it fermented slow and cold for about three weeks. From there, we racked it all together off the lees and to a tank and then back to barrel to age for about ten more months before we bottled.
Food Pairing Notes
Enjoy this Rosé lightly chilled with a seafood saffron risotto with freshly grated parmesan, butternut squash ravioli with a brown butter sauce and crisped sage, or with your favorite fresh melon slices wrapped in salty prosciutto.
