I love this wine. It is always one of my favorites because it pairs with everything yet is so complex and aromatic. Warm baking spices like all-spice, a hint of star anise, vanilla and fresh cinnamon stick waft from the glass. The fruit tones are deep brûléed fig, roasted black plum and a touch of red currant. The palate carries the same fruit tones forward but adds a touch of chalky tannins and richness. This is a wine that lingers after the last sip in a super pleasing way. While I generally think our Tres is a great wine to drink immediately, this vintage will be great to lay down for a few years and will only improve in depth and complexity.

Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
Although 2017 was overall a very challenging harvest in Sonoma County, our small pocket of Dry Creek Valley was well protected from most of the struggles that faced other regions. The growing season was very warm and dry without much of the fog that generally drapes Dry Creek in the summer mornings. However, our proximity to the creek kept things slightly cooler within our vines.
Production Notes
The grapes for our Tres blend were picked, fermented and aged separately. We picked each variety by hand, sorted by hand, then de-stemmed and gently crushed each lot. Each of the varieties was fermented in a stainless steel open top tank, cold soaked for 3-5 days then inoculated and punched down 2-3 times per day. After fermentation, the wines were put to neutral oak barrels and aged for 15 months before being bottled unfined and unfiltered.
