Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Our 2019 Rosé de Tres is just as enticing as the previous vintage with a pretty blush pink color. The aromas are of fresh picked raspberry, orange blossom and candied citrus zest. The palate is bright, fresh and full of berry flavors. This wine finishes crisp and clean and leaves you wanting more. Perfect for spring time pairings with light salads and even seafood courses, or also great just paired with sunshine and a nice porch.
Vineyard Notes
2019 was another beautiful vintage. We had TONS of precipitation over the winter, which led to a slight delay in budbreak and bloom. The growing season was very warm and very even. These varietals all came in a little lighter than the previous harvest, which was nice after such a high yielding year.
Winemaker Notes
This is our second vintage of making Rosé de Tres. Breaking from our normal style of making purposeful, pressed rosés, this one was made from a blend of saignee fractions from three of our Rhone wines: Syrah, Mourvedre and Grenache. After we picked each of these lots for red wine, we saigneed (drained juice from the tank to increase the ratio of skins to remaining juice to concentrate the final red wine) a small percentage from each. This saignee fraction from each was a beautiful, light, crisp rosé juice. We fermented each lot separately and combined after fermentation. This wine did not go through malolactic fermentation and only saw stainless steel, which preserved the bright and delicate fruit. After 4 months in tank, we bottled.
Food Pairing Notes
This Rosé is perfect for spring time pairings with light salads, seafood courses or with warm sunshine and a nice porch.
