Our 2016 Chardonnay is full of beautiful, ripe white peach, lemon zest and hints of flaky pie crust. The palate is well-balanced, with bright fruit on the front that gives way to a rich, round mouthfeel and a good hit of acidity at the end. This wine holds true to the delicate style that we aim for in our Chardonnay: rich from the inclusion of malolactic fermentation yet maintaining its pure fruit character because of our use of neutral oak. I love this wine for food pairing, especially with fresh spring vegetables, light pastas, and all manner of delicate seafood dishes.

Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
2016 was a really perfect vintage in Sonoma County and Dry Creek Valley. The winter and spring brought much-needed rainfall to our area and the growing season was warm and even with no heat spikes or unusual weather events. We picked our Chardonnay three weeks later than previous vintages, which allowed for even more flavor to develop on the vine before harvesting.
Winemaker Notes
We picked our Chardonnay grapes in the early morning hours and hand sorted in the vineyard first before bringing them to the winery and gently whole-cluster pressing. The juice settled for 24 hours in tank before going down to all neutral barrels, where we used four different types of yeast. After fermentation, the barrels were topped up and put through malolactic fermentation. The wine was kept on the lees and stirred every other week until just before bottling.
Food Pairing Notes
Pairs beautifully with fresh spring vegetables, light pastas and all manner of delicate seafood dishes.
