Black cherry, red juicy plum, and a touch of cinnamon and clove start out the aromas of this wine. They are complemented by the juicy black fruit notes and rich, wet tannins on the palate. The Grenache lends its hand to the blend with delicate orange blossom touches throughout. Definitely a bigger wine than the 2012, but just as (or more) delicious!

If 2012 was thought to be the perfect vintage, then 2013 really blew our minds. The year started out with a dry winter, but high spring rains added to the water table just in time. The summer was hot, but even without any major heat spikes. Harvest cam
Winemaker Notes
The grapes for our Tres blend were picked, fermented and aged separately. This year, all the blocks were picked within a few weeks of each other. We picked each vineyard by hand, sorted by hand, then de-stemmed and gently crushed each lot. Each of the varietals was fermented in a stainless steel open top tank, cold soaked for 3-5 days then inoculated and punched down 2-3 times per day. After fermentation, the wines were put to neutral oak barrels and aged for 18 months before being bottled unfined and unfiltered.
