This wine has earthy, tobacco notes on the nose, followed by bright red fruit of cherry and hints of raspberry. On the palate, there are fruit notes up front, with gentle but present tannins. This a big wine and very food friendly. It will age well for 5-10 years.

The grapes come from a beautiful vineyard at the very top of Dry Creek Valley, above the fog line, and overlooking a small lake. The vineyard sits high above the Warm Springs Dam that forms Lake Sonoma. We call the vineyards Alta Presa, which means "high dam" in Spanish.
