This is a Cabernet to lay down for a while! The coolness of the vintage is immediately apparent on the nose, with pretty floral and dark tobacco notes working together. On day two, the wine opens up to showcase more fruitiness. The tannins are big and bold, with a beautiful acidity on the finish that lingers long after the final sip. This wine should be ready to drink in 2-3 years and will pair well with the richest of dishes.

Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
2011 was a very challenging vintage in many ways. After a very long and wet winter, with rains lasting into June, we had a warm, but mild summer. Many factors affected the crop size of most varietals, including rains and wind during bloom, frost in the springtime, and the heat spikes from the previous vintage affected berry formation from the start.

Winemaker Notes
This Cabernet was picked three weeks after the rain in 2011. Because the clusters were very loose, we were not affected by the rot issues that many vineyards that went through the rain experienced. We picked it by hand in the early morning hours. After carefully sorting both in the vineyard and in the winery, the grapes were de-stemmed but left whole. The must was fermented for 8 days before being gently pressed and put into barrels for almost two years.
