September
Amista Friend of the Month!

Here at Amista, our wine club members are like family. Therefore, we decided to start a monthly newsletter that would feature one of our wine club members. These are club members that are active in the Amista community and continually engage with and support the Amista Family. In addition to being featured in our monthly newsletter, Amista Friends of the Month receive additional benefits like extra savings on wine, food pairings, and other treats during the month. We will be doing this each month and asking club members if they would like to participate, so keep an eye out in your inbox to see if you have been nominated!

Our September Amista Friend of the Month is Gretchen from Johnson City, Tennessee.  Gretchen has been part of the family since 2007 and is a member of our Golden Circle club. Keep reading to find out a bit more about Gretchen!

Favorite Wine:

When I became a member, my favorite wine was the Zinfandel. However, when the Petite Sirah came out, that quickly became my new favorite. The last vintage of Petite Sirah was released in 2012, so I hope that more will be released as I no longer have any in my cellar.

Becoming Members:

In 2007, I was a travelling RN working in San Francisco. In September, my friend Sherryl and I went up to wine country for the day. We stumbled upon Amista and I was so delighted that I decided to sign up that day. In 2009, I moved back to Tennessee. When I get my box of Amista wine, it is like a part of California is here with me.

Favorite Memory:

When I was in San Francisco, Amista would have members come up for lunch and wine. My favorite memory is sitting outside at a long table with 14 other people. We ate wonderful food and drank great Amista wine. Vicky and Mike treated us as though we were family and were so glad to see us when we arrived. I used to tell them that I was going to quit my job in the city and come up there to be a nurse for all the wineries. I thought it was a great idea!

Although I am no longer in San Francisco, I get to share my Amista wine with my friends here. When we get together, most of the time, I get the request to bring a bottle of Amista. I love sharing it with them. We eat wonderful food, drink Amista wine, and of course, there is always dancing involved. (My husband is always our designated driver!)
