Last month, Amista lost a dear friend who had been with us since 2009. Peggy and Thomas joined Amista in 2009 after stumbling upon the tasting room during a trip to the Bay Area to celebrate their anniversary. Peggy had her favorite; our Chardonnay and Thomas enjoyed a glass of our Cabernet Sauvignon. They joined the wine club that day, so they could enjoy Amista wines back home in Louisiana.
Thomas always responds to our newsletters and announcements with enthusiasm, sharing stories, and funny comments. In early July, he reached out to inform us that his wife of 43 years, Peggy, had passed away peacefully in her sleep. Thomas told us that in her honor, the family had enjoyed her favorite Amista Chardonnay on the back porch.

Here at Amista we always speak about our wine club members as family and that is truly how we feel. We were all deeply saddened by the news that Peggy had passed. We were so thankful that our Chardonnay could bring back fond memories during such a difficult time.
In honor of Peggy, we have dedicated one of our Chardonnay vines in her memory. This vine will continue to grow the fruit that is used to create her favorite wine for other Amista Friends to enjoy for generations to come.
