Favorite Wine / Becoming Members:
This has truly sparked quite the debate between us. Brian can't get enough of Amista's Rockpile Cabernet Sauvignon. While Jon has fallen pretty hard for the Sparkling Fusion. In the end it's a great debate to have, and it usually leads us to starting with the Sparkling Fusion before dinner, and pairing dinner with the Rockpile Cabernet. It's a win-win!
Several years ago we visited the Dry Creek Valley with a group of friends who enjoy wine as much as us. One of our friends was already a member of Amista and spoke highly of it; of course, we had to visit. From the moment we entered Amista's property, we were struck by the friendliness of the staff and the beauty of the grounds and the tasting room. The dog wandering around helped too! We sat out back and did a full tasting and it was love at first sip! From the Blanc de Blanc Sparkling, to the Zinfandel, to the Syrah, to the Rockpile Cabernet... Each taste was amazing and it was complimented by the friendliness of everyone we met. By the end of our time at Amista, becoming members was our only option!
Favorite Memory:
October 14th, 2018. It was the day after our wedding in Sonoma. We took a large group of our guests, 110 in fact, on a tour of two of our favorite wineries. There had been months of planning to make this happen (Tammy is a rockstar!) and Amista could not have delivered better on their promise to welcome our family and friends. The winery closed down to the public early to ensure they could focus all their attention on us and we couldn't have been more thankful. We arrived and were wowed by the preparation and thoughtfulness put into our memorable event. The Amista team poured all of our favorites for our family and friends while describing the wines and their history. Tammy even organized a grape stomping competition which sparked quite the team rivalry amid our group. The most touching part of this celebration was when Tammy personally thanked us and surprised us with the dedication of a vine in our name to celebrate and honor our wedding. It was such a surprise, and something we will never forget.
