March Amista Friends of the Month Newsletter!

Here at Amista, we like to take the time to honor our Wine Club members as each and every one continue to stay passionate about our wines and we love to hear the stories of sharing with friends and family.

These are Club members who we have special relationships with, and who visit us from the local area to those from other states. Once a month we feature Amista Friends of the Month in our monthly newsletter. For accepting this invitation, they receive additional benefits, like extra savings on wine, food pairings, and other treats during the month. We do this every month, and reach out to Club members asking if they would like to participate. So keep an eye out in your inbox to see if you have been nominated!

For the month of March, we are featuring Sarah and James who live in Noblesville, Illinois and have been members since of our Circle of Friends Club since December of 2013.

We here at Amista appreciate their continued passion and loyalty for our wines.

Amista Friends of the Month - Sarah and James

Favorite Wine and Becoming a Member:

James and I have two favorite wines - his favorite is Zinfandel and I love the Sparkling Syrah. The Amista Zinfandel is a classic example of Sonoma County Zinfandel - big and fruit forward, but dry. The Sparkling Syrah is also fruit forward, but crisp and pairs beautifully with food. Drinking these wines always remind us of the fun visits we've had to the Dry Creek Valley and of course, our friends at Amista. On our first trip to the Dry Creek Valley in December 2013 we rented bikes and were riding around the valley. At each winery we stopped at we'd ask if they had a recommendation. Amista was recommended when I told them how much I love sparkling wine. It is the perfect winery for both of us as you make delicious sparkling and still wines. Amista was our last winery of the day and since it was December it was all decked out for the holidays. The amazing wines and excellent hospitality were the perfect end to our day. Amista is the first wine club we joined and we joined because we wanted regular access to all of their fantastic wines to drink at home and to share with our friends.

Favorite Amista Memory:

We come to visit Amista regularly and a trip out for the holiday party has become one of our favorite holiday traditions. This fall I got to celebrate a very big milestone - two years of remission from Hodgkin's Lymphoma. To mark this milestone, we came out to visit wineries with my parents and the highlight of our trip was bringing them to Amista. The team at Amista knew we were coming and why and they made our visit an incredible memory. We were greeted with hugs from Tammy and Robert and then spent the afternoon on the patio tasting wine. We also got a surprise visit from Ashley. It was such a treat to share this experience with my parents, as we've given them bottles of Amista wine over the years and always talk about how much we love the winery. It was also very special to share my big celebration with the Amista family, as coming to the winery has been something I looked forward to when I was sick and the staff has been so kind and supportive of us.

Favorite Food Pairing:

We love to pair the Sparkling Syrah with ham and cheese quiche.
