February Amista Friends of the Month Newsletter!

Here at Amista, we like to take the time to honor our Wine Club members as each and every one continue to stay passionate about our wines and we love to hear the stories of sharing with friends and family.

These are Club members who we have special relationships with, and who visit us from the local area to those from other states. Once a month we feature Amista Friends of the Month in our monthly newsletter. For accepting this invitation, they receive additional benefits, like extra savings on wine, food pairings, and other treats during the month. We do this every month, and reach out to Club members asking if they would like to participate. So keep an eye out in your inbox to see if you have been nominated!

For the month of February, we are featuring Chuck and Becky who live in Eureka, California and have been members since of our Circle of Friends Club since October of 2011.

We here at Amista appreciate their continued passion and loyalty for our wines.

Below is their story!

Amista Friends of the Month

Favorite Amista Memory / Favorite Amista Wine and Food Pairing:

In December of last year, Becky and I hosted a surprise retirement dinner for my boss of 30 years.  The dinner took place at The Historic Benbow Inn.  We wanted the multi course meal to have the feel of a wine maker dinner.  So, I took the Inn's chef 9 bottles of wine from 6 of my favorite vineyards. After tasting each of the wines 5 were selected to pair with each of the 5 courses.

In tasting the Amista 2016 Rockpile Cabernet, the chef looked at me and said, "....we have to pair this with the filet....". I hesitated telling him I loathe over cooked beef.  We would be hosting 70 people for this dinner.  I questioned his ability to turn out 70 medium rare filets at one time.  I was wrong to question him; the filets were perfect!

Our guests enjoyed Amista 2016 Rockpile Cabernet with an entire course of:

Filet Mignon with a shallot bordelaise
Onion confit blue cheese mashed potatoes
Roasted asparagus

Several of our guests remarked that not only was the entree good, but they now truly understand the importance of a good pairing.

Becky and I are extremely grateful to everyone at Amista, especially Ashley, for the special wine that made our showcase course unforgettable.
