AMISTA VINEYARDS LAUNCHES NEW WEB SITE
Healdsburg, CA, December 2005: Amista Vineyards in Sonoma County's scenic Dry Creek Valley launched its new website to help its friends and supporters stay involved with the winery's progress. The site features two new wine clubs with a unique focus on experiential learning, owners Vicky and Mike Farrow's story of becoming winemakers and an online wine shop.
"Making wine has been a long-time ambition of mine," explains winery owner Mike Farrow. "I've spent years preparing for this role and I'm encouraged by the enthusiastic response we're receiving for our first releases."
Amista Vineyards is the result of Mike and Vicky Farrow's enjoyment of wine and fine, relaxed, living. Located in the heart of Sonoma's Dry Creek Valley, Amista Vineyards includes 20 acres of estate grown Syrah and Chardonnay. The Farrows live on the property with their three shelties and enjoy sharing their casual life style with friends.
"Winemaking gives you a natural and enjoyable way to engage people. As a former researcher and teacher, Mike is at home constantly expanding his winemaking knowledge and skills, and then making this information accessible to our friends," explains co-owner Vicky Farrow. "Amista, which means 'it makes friends' perfectly describes how the winery fits into our lifestyle. Through it, both old and new friends get to meet, mix and learn about wine and each other."
Amista Vineyards wine clubs reflect the Farrow's experience of sharing wine with friends in amicable and educational ways. The two clubs, Circle of Friends and Golden Circle each provide opportunities for members to participate in educational wine events, sample the winery's new releases and purchase wine at a discount.
"We created the clubs as a way to extend the activities our friends have already enjoyed," explained Mike Farrow. "When I was a garage winemaker, my friends would help me with some of the routine tasks and enjoyed learning about the process of winemaking, expanding their ability to identify flavor components or developing recipes for pairing. We've incorporated learning opportunities like these into our clubs so that every member has the chance to experience what a wine country lifestyle is all about."
Amista Vineyards first releases include the estate grown 2004 AMISTA Chardonnay, Morningsong Vineyards, Dry Creek Valley and the 2003 AMISTA Syrah, Morningsong Vineyards, Dry Creek Valley, as well as a 2003 AMISTA Zinfandel, Dry Creek Valley, 2003 AMISTA Cabernet Sauvignon, Dry Creek Valley. Wine can be purchased on line at our wine shop.
